Harold, Douglas and Gwen Bayly

Previous

These photos were taken between 1905 when Douglas was born, and 1935 when he married Gladys Ponder. During those years the Bayly family were living firstly at Priory Road Dartford, and then moved to "Thule" 85 Pelham Road Bexlyheath. Harold married Amy Kinnear in 1933. He worked for the Dept of Transport and moved to Cardiff when his office relocated. They retired to Lechlade Gloucestershire. Douglas studied towards his BSc degree over several years, and it was only when he achieved this that he married Gladys. He worked at a zinc works for a short time, and then worked at HM Stationery Office as a chemist for the remainder of his working life.  Gladys had lived with her parents until they married, but did not go out to work as her mother had been in poor health, and she was needed to help in the home. Gwen worked as a tracer and moved to Overton Hampshire in the 1960s where she met and married Edward Wright.
